Auto Digest Webline - This site claims to be "the most comprehensive World Wide Web site focused on providing information for both the automotive do-it-yourselfer and the automotive industry professional." Auto - This is a superlative automotive website developed and maintained by the Detroit Free Press. They have been on the job for decades, and far from being an industry puppet they have been fiercely critical when necessary. AutoGuide - This site claims to be the largest automotive website directory on the Internet. With over 7,000 websites catalogued with descriptions, they link to over 250 automotive e-zines, magazines, and newspapers. Automobile Magazine - This is arguably the most enjoyable read in all automotive publishing. It covers every aspect of motoring and has some of the best columnists in the field. AutoWeek - This is the only automotive weekly devoted to all aspects of motoring enthusiasm; classics, racing, collecting, history, plus very timely new car introduction coverage. Their coverage of motorsport, both professional and amateur, is especially good. Essentially it is largest accumulation of classified ads for every kind of car, past and present, and everything related to car collecting. Popular Mechanics - Graphics heavy and therefore slow, they've tried to put the entire magazine online. And once you get into their automotive coverage there's little of any real value. Very thin pricing data, no specifications. Essentially useless. PR Newswire - Though this site deals with all aspects of business and government news, its automotive section can be useful if you need to see the latest PR statement from the manufacturer of your choice. Road and Track - This is not America's oldest car magazine - "Motor" goes back much farther - but it is oldest of the new breed of automotive publications begun after World War II. Special Car Journal - This is a cheerful web version of the print magazine of the same name. There's a lengthy section on concept cars at the Detroit Show and what they claim is the greatest auto classified in the Internet.
