2018 Honda Accord Essential Expert Car Review

It is likely the best midsize sedan ever

What you need to know

The 2018 Honda Accord is acknowledged by most industry experts as the best sedan in its segment. All new for the 2018 model year, the 10th-generation Accord offers just about every feature a midsize sedan driver could want at a price that emphasizes value. Built on a new platform, the Accord features attractive exterior styling with a lower, wider stance. The body houses a more spacious and upscale interior and the latest generation of advanced Honda safety, connected-car and driver-assistive technologies. Ample power is provided by each of three advanced new power units – two turbocharged 4-cylinder engines and a third-generation two-motor hybrid system. While maintaining affordable midsize sedan pricing, the 2018 Accord’s keynotes are outstanding quality, exceptional fuel efficiency, and a level of fun-to-drive that leaves many of its competitors in the dust.

Driving it

When equipped with the higher displacement 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and 10-speed transmission, the Accord offers stellar all-around performance, but Accords equipped with the 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine deliver satisfying acceleration as well. Maneuvering the Accord in parking situations is easy thanks in part to its rear-view camera system.
