Exclusive Interview with VW Group of America President Scott Keogh on the Future of EVs

Road Tests: Ford Bronco Sport in Michigan; Lexus UX Hybrid in Maine; How Long will Used Car Shortage Last?

This week our special guest is Scott Keogh, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America as well as head of the Volkswagen brand for the North American region. He’ll have some very interesting things to say about Volkswagen’s future in the United States. VW has recovered from the public relations nightmare of “Dieselgate,” and it has recently embarked on a global plan to become a leader in electric vehicles. Host Jack Nerad had a chance to sit down with Keogh for a lengthy discussion at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, recently. In that mammoth production plant VW will build the Volkswagen ID.4 electric crossover SUV that is the vanguard of its EV initiative.

In news this week Host Jack Nerad and Co-Host Chris Teague discuss how long the shortage of used cars will last. Several factors conspired to create a critical lack of supply of used cars, and they will look into them and predict when the market will return to normal.

Also in the news, RAM has introduced some new truck models. We’ll tell you who they are targeting and what 2022 holds for the truck market. Is now a good time to buy a truck or should you wait if you can?

In the road test segment Chris Teague will take a long look at the Lexus UX hybrid. Is the UX hybrid the right choice for a family that lives in a small town away from big-city infrastructure? Teague will tackle that and other questions about the hybrid version of the UX.

Also in the road test segment, Jack Nerad just returned from a road trip in the Ford Bronco Sport compact SUV, and he’ll tell you how it fared over the course of a 600-mile drive up and down the West Coast of lower Michigan. Is the Bronco Sport a vehicle you should consider even if you’re not an “off-roader?” We’ll have the answer.

The Bronco Sport can wade through up to 23.6 inches of water.
